Mark has worked in publishing for most of his life. He is a dedicated editor and communications professional with an in-depth knowledge of marketing and advertising at a strategic level, both nationally and internationally.
He has steered the editorial direction of many business and trade magazines and represented and managed the sales for some of Australia’s leading business and lifestyle publications including Australian Geographic, The Institute of Chartered Accountants Charter magazine, NRMA Open Road, Dynamic Small Business, Australian Wine Selectors and the City Weekly (Sydney).
In 2006, Mark (along with Todd Tai) successfully launched mivision Australia and New Zealand, then in 2008 launched the first optical magazine in Singapore, mivision Singapore edition. Prior to mivision, Mark provided sales and marketing advice to the optical industry as a consultant.
Along with Todd Tai, Mark is a Director of Toma Publishing Pty Ltd based in Sydney, Australia which produces mivision ophthalmic journal and mivision online.
In 2011, to help meet the growing continuing educational needs of optometrists registered to practice in Australia and New Zealand, Mark saw an opportunity for mivision to provide independent education to optometrists by incorporating both the journal and website. In July 2011, the mivision team launched the mivision independent clinical learning centre which today accounts for nearly 10 per cent of the total CPD points accumulated by Australia’s 4,400 optometrists (mivision CMS Nov 13).
