Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS) are a group of rare genetic, progressive multisystem disorders with frequent ocular involvement. Advances in enzyme replacement therapy and haematopoietic stem cell transplantation have improved patient life expectancy and reduced disease burden over recent years. This increase in life expectancy has resulted in more complex eye disease management issues. Ophthalmologists play a crucial role, as part of a multidisciplinary team, in managing these patients and their complex visual conditions.
