Optometrists from Australia and New Zealand are invited to attend Eye Institute Auckland’s 2020 Annual Optometry Conference Online.
Fifteen world class eye surgeons will speak on the latest techniques and advancements in ophthalmic treatment in a series of rapid fire presentations on Sunday 20 September from 6.30am-3.30pm (AEST).

Themed Positive Health and Well-being in the Workplace, topics will include:
• High integrity retinal reattachment – when 6/12 isn’t necessarily 6/12 after successful macula-off retinal detachment surgery,
• Neuro-ophthalmology Red Cards: Keys to identifying neuro-ophthalmic emergencies,
• Personalised ophthalmic care using the latest genetics research – are we there yet?
• Examining the vitreous, and
• It’s dry eye…. isn’t it?
Additionally, guest speaker Sir John Kirwan, who is one of New Zealand’s favourite former All Blacks, will share his personal journey of depression, resilience and hope.
The conference will be live streamed from Auckland. Organisers have cautioned that if stage one lock downs return to New Zealand, the conference will be cancelled and the registration fee of NZ$90 will be refunded.
