ACOD Celebrates First Ever Graduates

The valuable role that dispensers play in the overall practice of optometry has been emphasised by Australian eyewear designer Jono Hennessy.

James Gibbins, Steven Hurtz, Chedy Kalach and Katie Philp (Specsavers)

Speaking at the inaugural celebration for graduates of the Australasian College of Optical Dispensing (ACOD) Optical Dispensing Certificate IV, he said, “You are a major, important part of the whole industry and how it all works… what you do makes the optometrist’s script work or not … I want people to know how important you are in the optical industry, never forget that importance.”

Twenty-four of the 48 Australian ACOD graduates attended the event, sponsored by Specsavers, and were presented with completion certificates from ACOD directors and senior trainers, James Gibbins and Chedy Kalach.
