Orcam Launches Tiny MyEye2

OrCam has released an Australian version of Orcam MyEye 2.0, a discreet artificial vision device weighing just 225 grams with a built in smart camera and HD speaker that attaches to spectacles or sunglasses magnetically.

MyEye 2.0 instantly reads text aloud in real time, from any printed or digital document (newspapers, books, restaurant menus, signs, product labels, computer and smartphone screens, and approximately 200,000 Australian barcodes).

Additionally, it recognises faces, hand gestures, products, credit cards and money; and has accurate colour detection.

The tiny device, which is the size of a finger, has been developed to improve the lives of individuals who are blind, visually impaired, and have reading difficulties.

OrCam was jointly founded in 2010 by Prof. Amnon Shashua and Ziv Aviram, who are also the co-founders of Mobileye, the collision avoidance system leader and autonomous driving innovator.

MyEye 2.0 is an evolution of MyEye 1.0, which was launched in 2015. MyEye 1.0 was a high resolution camera connected via a cable to a portable base unit just slightly bigger than a mobile phone.

MyEye 2.0 is a stand-alone device. It’s camera has built in LEDs for operating in dark areas and it has built in WiFi for instant software updates. A touch bar enables easy ‘swipe’ control.

OrCam was jointly founded in 2010 by Prof. Amnon Shashua and Ziv Aviram, who are also the co-founders of Mobileye, the collision avoidance system leader and autonomous driving innovator.

Orcam MyEye is distributed in Australia by Quantum Reading Learning Vision. Version 2.0 will be launchehd with a national campaign in April.
