Sunshades See Yellow on Daffodil Day

Every year on Daffodil Day, all the staff from Sunshades volunteer their time to sell daffodils, bears and badges to raise much needed funds for cancer research and prevention. In Australia, it is a disturbing fact that one in two people will get some form of cancer in their lifetime.

Chief Executive Officer, Rodney Grunseit said, "I could not be more proud of Sunshades involvement with the Cancer Council. The support doesn't come from me as CEO urging our team to give their time but from the good nature of the people in our business wanting to give back to the community."

Staff entered into the spirit of the day by dressing in anything and everything - just as long as it was yellow - to draw attention to the cause. Larger than large sunnies, oversized bears, lions and even a team member in a yellow tutu turned heads during the city's peak periods.

Sunshades Eyewear is a Sydney based company that began life 40 years ago as a small supplier of unbranded sunglasses to local pharmacies. Today, Sunshades is one of the largest distributors of eyewear in Australia as it designs, manufacturers, sells and distributes popular brands including Oroton, Polaroid, Cancer Council Australia, Karen Walker and Ksubi. With 110 staff, the business now sells in excess of three million pairs of sunglasses a year to more than 15 countries.
