Oakley broke new ground again last December with the introduction of the ‘Clubhouse' at the 11th Hole of the 2007 MFS Australian Open Golf Tournament in Sydney.

"Oakley is all about creating the bigger experience and creating a presence," said Oakley Marketing Director Graham Dickenson. "The Oakley Club House and Stadium Hole concept delivers an environment for people to enjoy the golf in a fun and social atmosphere. We play loud, we play hard and we're playing through!"

The ‘party hole' was the talk of the Open with Robert Allenby famously hamming it up for the punters after hitting one of the shots of the tournament, with a soaring short iron that drew in on the breeze and landed softly next to the pin, and stopped just three metres from the hole. Allenby strolled onto the green wearing a pair of red earmuffs which he subsequently threw into the crowd after missing the birdie. When the veteran professional made par he tossed his golf ball up on to the balcony to the roar of the crowd, where one fan wearing Oakleys' retro revival style ‘frogskins', caught it.

DJ Anna Lunoe spun tunes in the bar as golfers walked down the fairway, then hit the ‘quiet' button as they walked onto the green. There were many VIP's and prominent sports identities scattered throughout the ‘Clubhouse' including pro-golfers Ian Poulter, Zac Johnson, Annika Sorenstam, Nick O'Hern and Karrie Webb as well as Australian cyclist Matt White and his wife Jane Saville, the Australian race walker who won a medal in Athens.
