Michelle Hauschilde | 7 February 2012

Eyres Optics has secured the naming rights to an international sporting festival, to be held in the Western Australian regional city of Mandurah.

The Eyres Action Sports Games 2012 is a huge tourism drawcard for the region, south of Perth, with an estimated 100,000 visitors expected to attend the three-day event.

For the first time, the Action Sports Games will incorporate the Australian International Waterski and Wakeboarding Federation (IWWF) World Cup Stop. The World’s best waterskiiers and wakeboarders from 17 countries will travel to Western Australia to take on Mandurah’s aquatic playground.

The Eyres Action Sports Games line-up will also include a national BMX and Skateboarding competition and an international Freestyle Motocross (FMX) Shootout.

Eyres Optics is a Western Australian manufacturer and world leader in developing, constructing and distributing advanced eye protections for sports and industry.

Managing Director of Eyres Optics Michel Audry said his company was proud to sponsor and invest in bringing international and national action sport athletes into Western Australia.

“We recognise that the Action Sports Games and IWWF World Cup is a thrilling and unique event, and we are honoured to take part in promoting a community event that encourages creativity, skill and diversity.

Further details on the Eyres Action Sports Games will be announced over the next few months.
