Centre for Eye health

CFEH is a world-class facility utilising advanced technology to assist you and your patients.

Individuals must be referred to Centre for Eye Health by their optometrist or ophthalmologist, who will specify the examinations required.

CFEH then works closely with these practitioners to ensure that the latest diagnostic information is available to them, which will lead to improvements in the management of a person's eye health.

CFEH has an extensive range of state-of-the-art equipment to image the various structures within the eye and to evaluate the visual system, including:

• Optical coherence tomography of the anterior and posterior eye
• Confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy
• Scanning laser polarimetry
• Scheimpflug photography
• Anterior and posterior eye photography
• Corneal confocal microscopy
• Ocular biometry
• Visual field examination
• Electrophysiology

Optometrists employed at the Centre will conduct the examinations requested by the referring practitioner. Ophthalmologists are available for further consultation, if required. Reports will then be provided to the referring practitioner in the format of their choice.
