The mivision distance learning centre was established to help meet the growing continuing educational needs of optometrists registered to practice in Australia. At the beginning of each month we will add at least one new CPD module. These modules are worth two points.

Each month mivision's distance learning for CPD section will present modules that relate to clinical practice, therapeutics, practice management and new technologies. Each module will have assessment questions attached. Upon successfully completing each assessment the allotted CPD points wil be automaticallly recorded and forward to the OAA. 

Please read the instructions carefully before you get started.

Instructions

  • Log-in with your email address and password
  • Not a member? Please register now
  • Select the CPD module that you wish to complete (there is currently one module.  More modules will be added each month)
  • You have two chances to choose the correct answer to each question
  • Once you have answered correctly, or had two failed attempts,  you will automaticallly move to the next question
  • Once you commence a module, you must complete it before logging off
  • You must achieve a minimum result of 70% to pass a module
  • Once you have successfully completed or failed a module, you can not attempt it again
  • Upon successfully completing and passing a module your points will automatically be forwarded to the OAA.


FAQs

Do I need to pay to complete and submit mivision CPD Modules?

No, you do not need to pay. mivision provides this CPD service free of charge as part of our commitment to encouraging continued excellence in the optometry profession.

How do you notify the OAA of the CPD points I achieve?

As soon as you have successfully completed a module, mivision will notify you of the points you have achieved. We will advise the OAA of any points you achieve via mivision CPD at the end of each calendar month.

What topics does mivision's CPD program cover?

In the interest of professional development, mivision aims to cover a wide variety of topics relevant to optometry. Over time, we will present modules that relate to clinical practice, therapeutics, practice management and new technologies.

How many CPD modules do you offer each month?

mivision offers at least one CPD module each month

How long do I have to answer a module?

To provide the greatest opportunity for Optometrist's modules can be completed up to the 30 November 2013.

How long do I have to complete a module?

Individual modules are available to be completed up to the 30 November 2013. Once you have commenced a module, you must complete it before logging off. Individual modules cannot be attempted more than once. Upon completion, your points will be recorded on your CPD table.

How many CPD points can I get by completing a module?

You receive 2 CPD points per module.

How many correct answers do I need to achieve my 2 CPD points?

You need to achieve a minimum score of 70%. If you do not pass the module, you cannot re-do the assessment questions.

How many points can I earn each regulation period from mivision's CPD modules?

Over 24 months you will be able to earn a total of 56 out of your total of 80 required CPD points. This is the maximum you can receive through distance learning as you need to earn at least 24 points from face-to face learning.

Does this qualify for CPD in New Zealand?

The mivision CPD modules are not available to Optometrists in New Zealand at this stage. It is a resource available only for Optometrists who practice in Australia.
